The restaurant at Agris
(in the market square) 5 minutes drive from Maison Renard, offers
excellent set menus (no a la carte) some including wine. Well worth a
lunchtime visit. The restaurant is basic and wholesome, it pays to
check if they are open in the evenings.

Le Bonnieure in
Chasseneuil, on the main street, brasserie/restaurant is recommended
with very good set lunchtime menus, and full a la carte for evenings.

0545703990. (It pays to book). This restaurant is very popular with the
locals and gives good value and good food. If you park in the square
next to the chateau and walk into town bearing left, the restaurant is
situated in a side street running at 90 degrees to the road. (Usually
there is a board advertising it).

chateau in La Rochefoucauld, offers an extensive menu, with the
opportunity to eat out on the terrace with full views of the Chateau.

in La Rochefoucald, is open all day in season and offers good basic
food
at a good price, very popular with families.

Lake, at the Guerlie Plage (Lakeside near Pressignac) the Cote de Boeuf
Restaurant has magnificant views over the lake whilst serving very good
food at both lunchtime and evenings. It pays to book, and can be
combined with a days swimming, watersports etc. at the lake.

Excellent food, unbelievable presentation, well worth a visit. Go to
Mansle, straight over the traffic lights, over the roundabout, carry on

Charente, near the bridge on the Saintes road, is well worth a visit
and has a good selection of plat de jour every day, and is a lovely

Local Wine Not eating out but VITAL
INFORMATION.
The local wine making co-operative is to be found at St Sornin, which
is on the D6 out of La Rouchefoucald towards Montbron. (Go right
through the village on the main road and its on the left after the
village). Wines can be bought, sampled etc. Pineau as well all good
quality at unbelievable prices. Well worth a visit. They have many
award wining wines to taste.
