PARK NAUTILAS WATER PARK.
Approx 30 minutes drive. Park Nautilas is situated just off the N141
near Angouleme. Lake/river with canoes and safe swimming beach with
life-guard.

JARNAC and COGNAC
Approx 45 minutes drive. Jarnac and the surrounding area are near Cognac
excellent for tasting wine, pineau and cognac. On the river in Jarnac
there are canoes for hire and boat trips on the river Charente.

ROYAN
Situated on the Atlantic coast Royan offers beautiful beaches with
miles of golden sands. The town itself has many pavement cafes
providing for all tastes, from chips with everything to French cuisine
at its best. The locally caught sea food is delicious. Between Royan
and St-Palais-Sur-Mer there are many areas where you can park your car,
free of charge and walk through a small band of trees to the sandy
beaches. On the same road is the zoo and a large water park.

SWIMMING LAKES
There are numerous lakes in the Charente many of which have designated
swimming beaches/areas. A life guard is usually on duty. Everything is
free and most have a small kiosk selling drinks and ice-creams.

LOCAL MARKETS
There are many weekly markets locally.
Piegut Pluviers being one of the major ones held every Wednesday.
The monthly market at
Rouillac on the 27th is not to be missed.

LIMOGES Pottery.
Maison de La Porcelaine at Aixe-sur-Vienne, is well worth a visit, they
carry an extensive stock of both quality and utility porcelain and is
ideal for present hunting. You can also see them working in the
factory, and it is easy to find being on the hill by the river.
